Over the past two years we have received some comments/questions regarding the “Most perch” category. The incentive for creating the “Most Perch” category was to attempt to diminish the perch population in many of the derby water bodies; Long, Square, Cross, Eagle, and St. Froid Lakes. Perch have a major negative impact on Salmon, Brook Trout, and even Togue!! Since the beginning of the derby in 2006, the “Most Perch” category was, and is still highly supported by Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

We are excited to announce that our Derby Committee met and decided to move forward with plans to hold the 19th Annual Long Lake Fishing Derby. We hope our event will continue to bring some joy and pleasure to anglers, families and the kids that support us each year. We also hope we can count on your support once again to make this one of the most successful derbies that it can be!
